In my opinion I believe that most podcasters are getting a really bad deal when it comes to traditional sponsorship compensation. Being paid $18-$25 for every 1,000 downloads is a joke compared to what brands are shelling out for ads in radio and print.
So, I've been experimenting with a different route called Brand Immersion Packages that I believe will allow podcasters to be paid more fairly with any brand collaboration or sponsorship.
